The short version
- We aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA, the level Israeli regulations (Standard 5568) and most other countries expect.
- Everything in the planner works with a keyboard alone and with a screen reader; text can be zoomed to 200% without loss.
- The site is in 14 languages, including Hebrew and Arabic laid out right-to-left, with light and dark colour schemes.
- If something does not work for you, email us and we will fix it or give you another way to do the same thing.
1. Our commitment
Monvra is a monthly money planner. Money is stressful enough without a tool that fights you, so we treat accessibility as part of the product, not an add-on. We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, which is the standard adopted by Israeli Standard 5568 under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities regulations, and by the European Accessibility Act. We test new features against it before they go live.
2. What is in place
- Keyboard: every control can be reached and used with Tab, Enter, Space and the arrow keys. A “Skip to content” link appears on the first Tab press in the planner. The focused element always shows a visible ring.
- Screen readers: inputs have labels, icons have text alternatives, and live areas announce results such as “Saved” and AI answers. The planner is structured with headings and landmarks so you can jump between sections.
- Colour and contrast: text meets the 4.5:1 contrast ratio in both the light and dark scheme, and colour is never the only way information is shown (amounts and labels accompany every bar and chart).
- Text size and zoom: the layout reflows at 200% zoom and at phone width without horizontal scrolling. We do not block pinch-to-zoom.
- Motion: animations are reduced or removed when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Language and direction: 14 languages with a first-visit picker; Hebrew and Arabic switch the whole layout to right-to-left.
- Forms: errors are described in words next to the field, success is confirmed in words, and nothing is submitted on a timer.
- Emails: every email we send has a plain-text version and readable link text.
3. Known limitations
We are honest about what still needs work. Right now:
- Legal pages in English only. The Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and this statement are written in English; the rest of the site is translated. We show a note at the top in your language and suggest your browser’s translate feature.
- The looping preview on the home page is decorative and hidden from assistive technology. It has no speech, only short sound effects, so captions are not applicable. Everything it shows is also available as text on the page.
- AI answers arrive as streaming text. Screen readers announce the final answer; some may also read partial text while it loads.
- Charts in the planner are drawn with simple bars and carry their numbers as text, but they are not yet fully described for screen readers beyond their labels and values.
We review this list every time we ship a change and remove items as they are fixed.
4. Browsers and assistive technology
Monvra is tested with current versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge on desktop, and Safari and Chrome on iPhone and Android. We test with VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), NVDA on Windows and TalkBack on Android, with keyboard-only navigation, and with the browser zoomed to 200%.
5. Need an accommodation?
If part of Monvra does not work for you, email us and tell us what you were trying to do. We will either fix it or give you another way to get the same result, such as sending your plan summary by email or walking you through the steps. We reply within 7 business days, usually much sooner.
6. Report an accessibility problem
Email shneorhoota9@gmail.com with the subject “Accessibility”. It helps if you include the page, what you expected, what happened instead, and the browser and assistive technology you were using. You can also use the Contact us button at the bottom of every page.
